Whole School Transformation Training
Level 1: TEACHER LEADERSHIP PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
UCF has developed an online webcourse to train teachers to address the needs of underserved, low-income and English Learners.
"Project Objective 4: Provide professional development experiences to teachers in the target schools related to the identification and education of gifted students from all populations, including underrepresented ELL and ED populations." Research conducted over 5 years of Professional Development has demonstrated the effectiveness of this training to bridge the gap in equity and lead to significant percentages of diverse students being identified and served appropriately.

level 2 training - whole school workshops
Project ELEVATE worked with 12 Title I schools over 6 years. Training was provided within through grade levels teams - 6 at every school. This included the use of the ELEVATE Gifted Simulations that used avatars stemming from real students in the district to examine real challenges and how to develop Individual Education Plans. See the link to the case study website. Research has demonstrated this as an effective approach that has led to meeting project inclusive goals and leading to whole school transformation. 5 of the initial elementary schools were designated as magnet schools after the implementation of the project.
