Academic Advocates for Advanced and Gifted Education

  • The UCF ADAGE Special Interest Group upholds a concept of giftedness that is comprehensive, multifaceted, equitable and viewed within a cultural and socio-economic context.

  • This group supports the programs and services developed not only to meet the needs of advanced, highly able, gifted and talented students but also to challenge their excellence and creative productivity.

  • Faculty Advocates are involved in research and practice in gifted education with school service in local districts and participation in challenging programs for gifted learners.

  • This group advocates for specialist qualifications in gifted education for teachers of the gifted, and the incorporation of professional development for teachers in methods appropriate for serving gifted students in regular classrooms.

  • Faculty advocates promote gifted education through presentations at local and international conferences and publications in gifted education.

  • UCF ADAGE has collaborated with SCPS on Project ELEVATE, a Jacob K Javits Federal Grant for 6 years 2015-2021.

  • UCF ADAGE hosts regular conferences and institutes on Giftedness on campus and virtually - link to the conferences here.
